Saturday Morning Soccer Program

The Saturday Morning Soccer Program is for boys and girls from the ages of 3 to 6 from Forest, Arkona, Watford, Thedford, and surrounding areas. With the help of many volunteer coaches and parent representatives, we hope to introduce players to the game in a fun, safe, no-pressure environment.

Each age group  will be doing station based skills sessions.

Players may wear running shoes or soccer cleats. Shin pads are optional but they do prevent pain and injury from a collision or kick in the shin. Jersey's, shorts and socks will be handed out the first 2 weeks of soccer.

Many club coaches have also started learning how to coach on Saturday mornings and have "grown up" as a coach along with the players.

Parents often ask about children who are 3 years old and turning 4 soon. Parents are welcome to register a child and try a session or two. Some children are interested and happy to participate at that age, some are not. For children in all the age groups who are not sure if they will like soccer or not, parents may register a child and try out a couple of sessions. If you decide to withdraw after 2 sessions, we will refund your registration fees. Please make the request in writing. SATURDAY MORNING SOCCER 2024

Soccer will begin on May 25 and will run until August 24. (No soccer on the long weekends)

TIME:  

U3 & U4     10:15 to 11:00 am

U5 & U6     10:00 to 11:00 am

Location:
Taxandria Soccer Complex - south of Arkona on Arkona Road. 

U8 Program

The CSA (Canadian Soccer Association) recommends, this age group should be playing 5vs5 on smaller fields. This is per their "long term player development" Guidelines. We are fortunate at the club, we are able to accommodate this with our facilities. So below is the outline of what our U8 Program looks like:

The U8’s will compete in a "in-house league"  with games against GrandBend and other Tax teams.  This will be Double Cohort, meaning teams will consist of u7 and u8 players

Practices to create the teams will start early May, while games kick of on the Monday evening of the May Long weekend.  there will be a 12 week season followed by a festival day at the end in August.

Boys: Monday evening

Girls: Tuesday Evening

Practices For both Boys and Girls:

Saturday 8:45-9:45AM

This is a small change from previous years (now 15 min earlier) as the numbers are becoming to large to accommodate at the facility logistically.

-Teams will rotate through 4 stations of drills for the first 20 minutes (5minutes at each station) - Scrimmage games will consist of two 15 minute halves Everything depends on numbers and coaches available. So if you are willing to help out let us know. As for the players, Sign up today!!
