Letter that was send out to membership
March 26, 2021
Players, Parents, Coaches:
Spring is in the air and we’re sure you are all excited at the prospect of some outdoor physical team activity when we are able to do so. We’re writing you today to explain what the outdoor soccer season (subject to Lambton Public Health Regulations) will potentially look like for 2021.
The current “grey/ lockdown Status” of Lambton county has complicated things, and put us in a bit of a wait and see as to what the soccer season will look like.
In “grey lockdown status” there will be a total cessation of play.
In a “red Status” Some age groups would be able to participate in non contact skill only practices.
In “Orange Status”, or better, we will be able to run the below explained soccer programs.
As such, If in “orange status” or better, we had anticipated a normal start up (the month of April) obviously that may be pushed back at this point. Once we do get going, we will divide up travel teams (u8-senior= 2014 born and up), find and introduce coaches, and get the ball rolling so to speak.
There is a good chance the travel leagues will NOT start up on time (normally 2nd week in May) in this scenario we will create a 3 to 4 team “in-house league” with Grand Bend for the teams they have registered. These teams would be created from your age group, or include 2 age groups to get enough numbers. At this time we would also start up our Saturday morning Timbits program as normal.
Teams will play a rotating schedule with a game 1 time per week. Players will Practice 1 time a week with their original “Travel League” team, in anticipation for if/when we as Taxandria are able to join travel leagues.
All play this season would be under the rules and regulations set out in the “Return to play guide” by Ontario Soccer www.returntoplayguide.tax
We will strive to do as much as we can to get people playing this season while working within’ the current rules and regulations set out by Lambton Public Health and Ontario Soccer.
Registration numbers are great, indicating everyone is very eager to get out and kicking. We only ask you to please be patient, and when we are up and running respect the rules and protocols as we can only run if they are adhered to.
When we have more certainty you will receive a link to finish your 2021 registration, as well as an explanation of the 2021 fees based on the current situation.
Thank you all for registering this year, and hopefully we’ll see you on the field soon!
